About the Role
You will operate and maintain our network infrastructure, ensuring stable, secure, and high-performance operations. This includes implementing VLAN design, routing, segmentation, and firewall rules, as well as managing backup and recovery strategies and optimizing the backup landscape. You will also maintain inventory and asset documentation.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain network infrastructure (FortiGate, OPNSense)
- Ensure stable, secure, and high-performance network operations
- Implement VLAN design, routing, segmentation, and firewall rules
- Manage backup and recovery strategy, including Bare-Metal-Recovery, DB backups (e.g., MariaDB), and tape archiving
- Consolidate and optimize the heterogeneous backup landscape
- Perform regular restore tests and reporting
- Maintain inventory, configurations, and documentation of devices, potentially with AI support
Requirements
- Solid firewall experience (concept, policies, NAT, VPN)
- Network fundamentals (VLAN design, routing, segmentation)
- Backup/Recovery experience (e.g., Veeam/VMware, Bare-Metal-Recovery, DB backups)
- Experience with tape/LTO archiving
- Relevant professional experience
- Git
