About the Role
The Academy Technical Coach will deliver an effective coaching programme for players aged 7-16 years old in the Girls Youth Academy, supporting player development through innovative planning, delivery, and management of training sessions and match days.
Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and review a holistic coaching programme for goalkeepers and/or outfield players
- Ensure high standards of coaching delivery to support long-term player development
- Collaborate with age group coaches to deliver individual training programmes
- Provide matchday support and management for fixtures against boys grassroots/academy teams and other PGAs
- Liaise with multidisciplinary support teams including Medical, Physical Performance, Education, Sports Psychology, and Talent ID
- Record relevant information using club processes
- Conduct formal and informal performance reviews and provide feedback to players and parents
- Adhere to safeguarding policies and practices to protect children and vulnerable adults
Requirements
- Experience coaching youth academy players aged 7-16 years
- History of mentoring and developing other coaches
- Understanding of the FA Women's and Girls player pathway
- UEFA C Licence
- Working towards UEFA B / FA Level 3
- FA Licensed Coaches Club Member
- FA Youth Award
- Up to date FA Safeguarding Children Certificate
- FA Emergency Aid Qualification (FA Basic First Aid for Sport or FA Level 2 Emergency First Aid in Football)
- Knowledge of long-term player development
- Ability to build rapport and set realistic goals for players
- Commitment to inclusive pathways for girls and young women
- Must complete a DBS check and other essential background checks
