About the Role

The Practice Group Manager supports day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives for the Tax and Tax Controversy practices across any U.S. office. This role is integral to the firm’s business services, joining a practice management team that supports practice leaders in group management, cross-departmental initiatives, strategic planning, talent management, pipeline development, productivity goals, education, and collaboration with various firm departments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage talent across the group, including recruiting, senior talent pipelines, performance improvement plans, and attorney review coordination.
  • Support the firm's free market system, assisting lawyers with staffing and new work opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the practice management team to integrate firm-wide efforts.
  • Develop agendas and manage follow-up for partner and group meetings.
  • Develop strategic business goals, objectives, and tactics with practice management and leadership.
  • Partner with marketing, business development, and communications teams to support business development efforts, including events, submissions, client updates, and target identification.
  • Manage tracking of practice-specific data, including pitches, targets, client outreach, and staffing.
  • Collaborate with business support departments to manage initiatives and support practice group business strategies.
  • Support attorney development and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives with professional development and diversity departments.
  • Develop practice-specific educational trainings and CLE programming with the professional development team.
  • Identify and execute process improvement opportunities.
  • Manage the associate journey for practice groups, including mentorship, review support, and career guidance.

Salary/Compensations

  • $230,000 - $280,000
