About the Role

The Bartender consistently delivers results contributing to the hotel's mission and success by achieving performance objectives for social venues. This role involves setting up, servicing, and breaking down the bar area, ensuring high quality, consistency, and service.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers.
  • Determine beverage preferences by reading and listening to guests.
  • Make beverage recommendations.
  • Take drink orders.
  • Plan drink menus.
  • Inform customers about new beverages and specials.
  • Act as a Server when needed.
  • Select and mix ingredients.
  • Garnish glasses.
  • Serve beverages to customers.
  • Check identification to ensure customers are of legal drinking age.
  • Take inventory.
  • Order supplies to ensure the bar and tables are well-stocked.
  • Adhere to all food safety and quality regulations.
  • Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions.
  • Ensure charges are accurate.
  • Return correct change to patrons.
  • Balance the cash register.
  • Maintain a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.
  • Develop new cocktail recipes.
  • Maintain health and safety protocols established by the Stay Safe Sonesta Program.
  • Follow Sonesta A+ Service Standards at all times.
