About the Role
Snowflake is seeking AI-native thinkers to power the era of the agentic enterprise. The Applied Field Engineering / Field CTO Office is looking for a Senior Manager to lead a team of Data Engineering Field CTOs, providing strategic vision, leadership, and technical oversight to help customers build and optimize data and AI architectures on the Snowflake Cloud Data Platform.
Responsibilities
- Build, manage, and mentor a world-class team of Field Data Engineers, fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture.
- Partner with sales leadership and strategic customers to tackle complex data engineering and AI workloads.
- Establish clear goals, drive accountability, and celebrate impact.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to both technical contributors and C-level executives.
- Act as a critical feedback loop between the field and engineering, collaborating with Product Management.
- Partner with Product Marketing to scale team expertise through technical content and events.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience directly managing and scaling high-performing technical teams in Data Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or Field Engineering.
- Experience managing and scaling geographically distributed teams, with a deep understanding of cultural dynamics across APJ.
- Strong passion for mentoring engineers and supporting career development.
- Results-oriented mindset with experience driving accountability and high performance.
- Strong understanding of modern data engineering ecosystems, advanced analytics, and AI/ML operationalization (LLMs, RAG, feature stores).
- Deep knowledge of data integration patterns, streaming, real-time ingestion, and data pipeline orchestration.
- Strong technical foundations in SQL, Python, or Scala.
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with ability to navigate complex customer relationships at the executive level.
- Proven ability to assess technical gaps and articulate solutions that drive business outcomes.
