This role as a Senior Antenna System Engineer at Ericsson Antenna Systems involves shaping cellular communication performance and innovation. The engineer will influence product technology, guide R&D, set industry benchmarks, apply deep technical knowledge, collaborate cross-functionally, and drive technological leadership. Responsibilities
- Align technology, product, and operational strategies for innovative antenna solutions; create customer system value; assess technology maturity and cost-effectiveness; stay updated on industry trends and adopt relevant developments; identify disruptive innovations and explore emerging technologies.
- Provide in-depth technical proposals and systemizations for complex problems; assess portfolio breakdowns to sub-functional technology levels; identify portfolio harmonization and scalability; participate in defining Ericsson’s R&D direction.
- Influence the organization, teams, and customers to materialize next-generation antenna solutions; act as a technical lead and advisor for investigations and upper management.
- Promote learning and knowledge sharing; act as a teacher/mentor; develop personal competence; foster cross-functional collaboration; participate in or lead communities of practice and external academic collaborations.

Skills
- Profound and extensive expertise in Active Antenna Systems, radiators, signal distribution networks, filters, materials, mechanical aspects, and EM simulation tools.
- Comprehensive and deep understanding of network level impact of antenna features for optimal architecture ideation and concept selection in Active Antenna Systems.
- Extensive knowledge of market and industry requirements, Ericsson technical portfolio, and competitor solutions.
- Very deep understanding of Network KPIs for Active Antenna Systems (AAS), beam configurations, and correlation to antenna system architecture.
- Knowledge of radiator solutions for various applications and goals.
- Competence in designing radiator's radiating and feeding sections, and environment components (cavities, directors, decoupling structures).
- Expertise in signal distribution architectures, technologies (transmission lines, materials), and component design (power dividers, couplers, phase shifters, impedance transformers, filters).
- Competence in selecting and designing with materials and solutions (metals, PCBs, dielectrics).
- Perfect understanding of mechanical aspects for feasible, effective component and system materialization to industry standards.
- Comprehensive knowledge of EM modeling and simulation tool possibilities for optimal antenna development.
