About the Role

We are seeking a Secondary Learning Support Teacher (Full-Time) to provide support as a member of the Learning Support Team, assisting in the development, implementation, and review of Individualised Learning Plans for students with diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, implementing, and reviewing Individualised Learning Plans for students with diverse learning needs.
• Identify students requiring additional learning support through assessment data, teacher referrals, and observation.
• Support classroom teachers in differentiating curriculum, assessment, and teaching strategies.
• Advise staff on reasonable adjustments in line with the Disability Standards for Education and inclusive education practices.
• Assist in the management of the Nationally Consistent Collection Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD).
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records, case notes, and support documentation.
• Liaise with parents and carers regarding student progress, support strategies, and transition planning.
• Assist students with assessment accommodations, exam provisions, and learning adjustments.
• Work with students individually, in small groups, and within mainstream classroom settings.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education and learning enrichment strategies.
• Assist students in developing positive behaviours, self-regulation, and emotional resilience.

Requirements

• Have an active Christian faith.
• Hold a suitable qualification and NESA accreditation (or be eligible).
• Have knowledge of Learning Support and/or Special Provisions (desirable).
• Display the capacity to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
• Demonstrate excellent teaching as described by the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
• Be able to receive feedback on your Teaching and implement changes.
• Effectively plan for, collect, and analyse educational data, then devise appropriate strategies and interventions to improve student outcomes.
• Hold a current Employee Working With Children Check.
