About the Role

The Manager, Total Rewards and People Operations advances Nicola Wealth’s Total Rewards priorities as a subject matter expert and key driver of compensation, benefits, and rewards-related programs, projects, and annual processes. This role applies external market insights, internal data, and best practices to support competitive, compliant, scalable, affordable, and well-governed Total Rewards programs, while partnering with People & Culture Business Partners, business leaders, Finance, and internal stakeholders to provide trusted guidance, analysis, recommendations, tools, and project leadership. The role provides oversight and support for People Operations processes, systems, data, reporting, and service delivery to ensure Total Rewards and broader P&C programs are enabled by accurate information, scalable processes, consistent practices, and strong operational execution.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the planning and execution of annual cycles, including market assessments, job evaluations, salary structure reviews, and reporting.
  • Leads the analysis and supports the design, implementation, and ongoing management of total rewards and people operations programs.
  • Maintains and strengthens governance, quality controls, and reporting to maintain accurate data sets, ensure consistency, and compliance with provincial regulations.
  • Designs and develops cross-functional processes, tools, templates, documentation, and communication to improve the understanding and effectiveness of programs.
  • Coaches People & Culture team members on interpretation and consistent application of program, policies, plans and processes fostering strong execution, data integrity, and service delivery.
  • Supports People Operations processes, reporting, dashboards, surveys, and related analyses that enable Total Rewards programs, workforce insights, P&C planning, and informed business decision-making.
  • Identifies opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve processes of systems, data quality, analysis and reporting.
  • Establishes, communicates, and monitors clear performance standards for direct reports, with a focus on teamwork, results, and quality.
  • Provides day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support to the People Operations team, establishing clear expectations and fostering a high-performing, service-oriented approach to operational execution, data integrity, reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Manages activities, accountabilities and timelines to support various assignments and projects, for example, engagement surveys.
  • Leads and contributes to policy development and communication.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree and / or post-secondary certificate in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in Total Rewards, ideally within a growing or complex financial services organization.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and HRIS skills.
  • CHRL or CPHR Designation and / or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or similar designation considered an asset.
