About the Role
Join TeraWatt's technology team as a DevOps Software Engineer to evolve our platform for leading fleet EV charging solutions in North America. Contribute to the development and reliability of the charging network management system, ensuring seamless charging and high-quality customer experience. Collaborate with the Director of Software and Product team to expand the platform and deliver value in a rapidly evolving industry. Scale cloud infrastructure and support organizational growth by implementing best practices for reliability, performance, and maintainability of charging infrastructure and software systems. Advance sustainable transportation infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Evolve cloud infrastructure using Terraform for resilient, scalable systems.
- Maintain Helm charts and deployment patterns for service lifecycle management.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions for application deployment.
- Apply security best practices across the stack, including software access and managed workloads.
- Strengthen cloud and network security using industry-standard tools to detect vulnerabilities.
- Advance observability practices with OpenTelemetry and Grafana Cloud for monitoring and alerting.
- Develop tooling for local and remote container-based cloud development workflows.
- Create and automate simulated production scenarios for testing and release validation.
- Design and manage infrastructure for machine learning model training and deployment.
- Partner with the Data team to manage core data infrastructure (Databricks, Kafka) and advise on architecture.
- Contribute to building a highly available, web-based depot operations platform using NodeJS.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for production system reliability.
Requirements
- 5+ years building and operating high-availability production software systems, preferably in DevOps or platform engineering.
- Experience building and maintaining scalable cloud-based infrastructure, including managed Kubernetes (EKS).
- Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) for reliable software delivery.
- Experience leading or contributing to SRE or DevOps initiatives for production cloud platforms.
- Experience with observability frameworks and tools (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Grafana).
- Experience working with managed databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, product, and infrastructure teams.
- Experience with multi-region AWS infrastructure and Kubernetes (EKS) at scale.
- Experience improving security and compliance practices through automation and internal tooling.
- Experience implementing or scaling observability standards using OpenTelemetry and Grafana Cloud.
- Experience maintaining or scaling data infrastructure (e.g., Databricks, Kafka).
- Proficiency in Python or NodeJS.
