About the Role

Summerhill Market is seeking an experienced Produce Manager to lead one of the most vibrant and fast-moving departments in their stores. This role is for someone who thrives in a high-volume retail environment, loves mentoring teams, and has a keen eye for freshness, quality, and merchandising.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the day-to-day operations of the Produce Department
• Drive exceptional product quality, freshness, rotation, and presentation standards
• Manage inventory, ordering, shrink, and department profitability
• Coach, train, and develop team members to deliver excellent customer service
• Create visually impactful displays that inspire customers and maximize sales
• Ensure food safety, sanitation, and health & safety standards are consistently upheld
• Support scheduling, productivity, and labour management within the department
• Participate in all department activities as a hands-on leader

Requirements

• Previous Produce Department leadership experience in grocery or specialty retail
• Strong knowledge of fresh produce handling, merchandising, and inventory management
• A natural leader with excellent communication and team-building skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically active environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Flexible availability including weekends and holidays as required
• Passion for food, retail, and creating an exceptional customer experience
