About the Role

The casual Paramedic Program Technologist assists faculty and students in the paramedic labs with learning activities within the Paramedic program. This role is important for supporting the learning journey of students in the Paramedic program.

Responsibilities

  • Assists during exam weeks (midterm and final)
  • Sets-up and tears down of scenarios, ensuring all health and safety control standards are met
  • Acts as standardized paramedic partners and/or bystanders as needed during testing scenarios
  • Must be available to work 50% of exam days

Requirements

  • Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant (AEMCA) Certification required
  • Certified in good standing with an aligned Ontario Base Hospital as a Paramedic
  • Actively employed as a Paramedic with a minimum of 2 years of full-time equivalent experience working at the applicable certification level
  • Excellent communication and effective interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in an academic setting
  • A strong commitment to student engagement and success
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Experience with medical equipment, simulation equipment, and laboratory preparation considered an asset
  • Successful candidates will be required to perform work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus, as required.
