About the Role
The Design Coordinator will manage and integrate engineering and design activities to ensure project deliverables align with scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards. This role serves as a key liaison between internal teams, external consultants, and construction partners to facilitate seamless project execution.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities including structural, civil, and utilities.
- Facilitate design reviews, track progress against milestones, and manage design interfaces.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and issuance of drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Ensure deliverables meet quality, regulatory, and client requirements.
- Act as a liaison between project teams, engineering consultants, and construction teams.
- Support responses to RFIs, design clarifications, and design changes.
- Conduct constructability reviews, value engineering, and risk identification.
- Identify design gaps or conflicts and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Provide design-related input for project schedules, cost estimates, and progress reporting.
- Support project meetings, action tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in design-build or construction-led project environments.
- Experience supporting construction-phase design coordination and change management.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Knowledge of design management and document control processes.
- Working knowledge of infrastructure standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.

Experience Level
- 3 - 5 years of experience
Education Level
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- EIT or P.Eng. equivalent designation preferred.
Salary/Compensations
- CAD $75,000.00 - CAD $100,000.00 per year
