About the Role
HKA is seeking an experienced Forensic Accountant to join their expanding Forensic Accounting and Commercial Damages (FACD) practice in Australia. This role offers the opportunity to lead disputes, investigations, and valuation projects across the Asia Pacific region, working alongside globally recognized Expert Witnesses and developing best-practice skills.
Responsibilities
- Leading and delivering complex assignments.
- Managing and mentoring junior members of the team, acting as the “go to” person for technical areas.
- Serving as an expert on a wide field of sophisticated matters, managing expert reports and formulating inputs into opinions.
- Performing detailed financial analysis and investigations, and developing financial models from transactional and financial data.
- Presenting findings and results to both internal and external clients.
- Actively contributing to and generating a variety of business development opportunities and being a brand ambassador through different channels (e.g. social media, client events).
- Developing strong client relationships.
Requirements
- A minimum of 9 years’ experience in forensic accounting and disputes, valuation or related industries.
- Qualified Accountant or similar qualifications.
- Strategic thinker comfortable working through ambiguity and intellectual challenges.
- Proficiency in preparing loss of profit models for disputes and damages calculations.
- Comfortable working with data sets, such as general ledgers, bank statements and other structured data.
- Demonstrable skills in managing and mentoring junior members.
- Exceptional written and communication skills.
- Experience delivering and producing sections of technical reports and letters.
- Confident managing multiple matters while guiding and supporting colleagues.
- Actively contributing to strategic business development initiatives.
- Values integrity and enjoys being part of a highly supportive team built on strong values.
