About the Role
We are seeking dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSW) to provide care in home and facility settings. C-Care is committed to personalized care and has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare staffing industry.
Responsibilities
- Ensure client safety is maintained at all times.
- Assist clients with overall daily hygiene including bathing, grooming, toileting, and dressing.
- Support clients with ambulation, transfers, and mobility through mobility aids such as wheelchairs to avoid fall and injury.
- Assist clients with their meals by aiding with eating, ensuring proper nutrition, and ensuring dietary requirements are being met as well as monitoring dietary restrictions.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to the clients by listening to their needs, being attentive, engaging in a conversation, and providing encouragement and reassurance to promote social interaction.
- Monitor changes in behavior, health, and overall well-being.
- Provide care to the clients in accordance with the facility or hospital's instructions and directives.
- Assist staff within the facility as necessary.
Requirements
- Personal Support Worker (PSW) diploma from an accredited institution.
- NACC certificate if credentials were obtained from a private career college.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Valid Mask Fit certificate.
- Basic skills and knowledge in caregiving such as personal care techniques, infection control, and basic medical terms.
- Working knowledge of spoken and written English and ability to take direction from appropriate professional hospital employees.
