About the Role
The Senior QA/QC Engineer ensures projects are delivered with quality that meets or exceeds client expectations by implementing international quality standards and procedures in all construction activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the quality and workmanship of every activity, with thorough knowledge of all phases of engineering construction relating to Civil, Architectural, and Structural disciplines.
- Manage QA/QC documents, including certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests, non-compliance reports, and site instructions.
- Develop and determine standards for inspection and testing, overseeing all testing methods.
- Follow QA/QC Plans, Approved Method of Statements, Approved Test Plans, and Approved Drawings to meet project quality requirements.
- Ensure all available Method Statements, ITPS, and Drawings are approved and are the latest revision.
- Ensure all approved Method statements, ITPs, and Drawings are followed on sites.
- Ensure all superseded documents are removed from the site.
- Prepare work inspection requests (WIR) for each construction activity and submit them to the consultant.
- Ensure all site items are inspected thoroughly before offering inspection to the consultant.
- Ensure work inspections are carried out as per plans and advise the construction team on corrections.
- Ensure all drawings used in inspection are approved and the last revision.
- Ensure 90% of work inspections pass on the first submission.
- Conduct quality toolbox talks and method statements briefings for all activities.
- Ensure method statements briefing is carried out for each activity and records are maintained.
- Ensure all incoming materials are checked as per project specifications and approved material submittals.
- Ensure all materials are inspected internally before offering inspection to the consultant and before use on site.
- Raise NCRs to suppliers for rejected materials and maintain inspection records.
Requirements
- Knowledge of work-related standards, specifications, and quality systems such as ISO 9001, QCS, ASTM, BSI, BSEN, ACI, and AASHTO.
- Sufficient technical experience in QC issues.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask, be proactive and deadline-oriented.
- Ability to interact effectively in English.
- Ability to read drawings, specifications, standards, and data sheets.
- Proficient in computer applications and systems such as Microsoft Office, Auto Cad, and Primavera.
- Ability to supervise/execute whole sections of a Project with minimum management supervision.
- ERP knowledge, preferably SAP, is a requirement.
- Minimum 8 years of working experience.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience.
- 2 years of GCC experience is a plus.

- Professional Qualification in MMUP Engineer Registration (UPDA) or Lead Auditor certification (ISO 9001 or equal) or ASQC certification (CQM/CQE).
