About the Role
This role involves underwriting credit exposure for large, complex customer relationships and actively managing a portfolio within Huntington Bank's Technology Finance (HTF) division. It requires day-to-day interaction with Sales Reps, managing portfolio risk, adhering to regulatory guidelines, and identifying emerging credit problems and industry trends.
Responsibilities
- Service, deepen, and retain profitable customer relationships by evaluating and mitigating business risks and opportunities.
- Ensure underwriting quality, portfolio administration, and credit quality of assigned portfolio.
- Underwrite complex and large credit requests for prospects and clients.
- Analyze company performance, industry dynamics, and macroeconomic events to assess client creditworthiness.
- Evaluate risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Provide independent, in-depth analysis of financial statements, projections, and business plans; identify and mitigate key risks.
- Optimize customer relationships by collaborating with internal teams to grow fees, deposits, and portfolio revenue.
- Prioritize work to meet customer expectations.
- Ensure financial statement spreading and risk rating integrity.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of corporate, investment, and commercial banking solutions.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of market trends and business drivers.
- Understand and articulate industry trends and economic patterns, sharing insights across the organization.
- Function effectively in a team environment, collaborating across reporting lines.
- Mentor Credit Analysts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting.
- Experience conducting cash flow analysis for large, complex publicly traded companies.
- 5+ years of related experience in commercial credit analysis and underwriting, preferably with an equipment finance organization.
- Proficiency with Moody’s spreading software or similar.
- Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
