About the Role

Dorsia seeks a Platform Engineer, Mobile to own the React Native foundation for its member app. This role encompasses mobile architecture, framework adoption, app performance, and a scalable white label strategy. The individual will build pipelines, drive framework migrations, ship under pressure, and deeply understand the product to ensure the platform supports its growth into events and experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve React Native / Expo infrastructure end-to-end, from local development to App Store release.
  • Architect and maintain CI/CD pipelines (EAS Build, GitHub Actions) to eliminate deployment bottlenecks.
  • Implement and manage OTA update strategies via Expo Updates for a high-velocity release cadence.
  • Own module architecture decisions to maintain codebase navigability for new product surfaces.
  • Own the full release pipeline for App Store Connect and Google Play Console.
  • Proactively navigate app review processes on both stores, managing escalations and pushing back effectively.
  • Own native integration surfaces (Braze, Segment, Datadog, Branch, Stripe, Plaid), ensuring cleanliness and maintainability.
  • Stay ahead of annual OS and SDK changes on iOS and Android, covering deployment targets, deprecated APIs, and policy requirements.
  • Own mobile app performance and observability, including JS bundle size, startup time, frame rate, crash reporting, and release health dashboards.
  • Build and maintain internal developer tooling for mobile engineering team efficiency.
  • Define and enforce code quality standards for the React Native codebase, including TypeScript strictness and component patterns.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of mobile or modern web engineering experience.
  • At least 3 years in React Native on a production consumer app.
  • Hands-on Expo expertise: EAS Build, EAS Submit, Expo Updates, SDK upgrades, and workflow tradeoffs.
  • Proven experience owning a mobile CI/CD pipeline.
  • Deep familiarity with Apple and Google developer ecosystems, including App Store Connect, provisioning, Google Play Console, and review processes.
  • Shipped multiple apps to both Apple and Google stores.
  • Strong TypeScript across the stack with a high bar for type safety and code quality.
  • Experience with React Native’s New Architecture (JSI, Fabric, TurboModules) and a clear opinion on its adoption.
  • Comfortable writing native modules in Swift or Kotlin.
  • Experience expanding a mobile product beyond its original scope without platform bottlenecks.
  • Product-minded, caring about what is built and shipping features members use.
  • Hospitality-curious and genuinely interested in food, restaurants, and luxury member experiences.

  • Junior level: $100,000–$160,000
  • Mid level: $150,000–$200,000
  • Senior level: $190,000–$250,000
  • New York Pay Range: $100,000–$250,000 USD
