About the Role
The Disney+ Product Design team seeks a Lead Product Designer to shape the future of streaming entertainment across Living Room devices, Web, and Mobile platforms. This role is for a design leader who thrives at the intersection of storytelling, technology, and user-centered design, crafting engaging experiences in a competitive streaming landscape. As a Lead Product Designer, you will influence strategy and execution, setting a vision for user experiences that enhance discovery, personalization, playback, and engagement, aligning design decisions with business goals. You will partner with Product and Engineering to deliver scalable solutions, mentor designers, and elevate design standards. This position requires a veteran designer with a deep understanding of building intuitive, elegant, cross-platform experiences, balancing creativity with rigor, and grounding decisions in research, analytics, and experimentation.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead product vision, collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Research to set design direction across content discovery, personalization, playback, and cross-platform experiences.
- Design for scale and global reach, delivering solutions for millions of users worldwide while balancing cultural, technical, and accessibility considerations.
- Elevate user engagement by translating data insights and research into experiences that drive retention, viewing time, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead design execution by creating process flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that ensure usability and craft.
- Champion experimentation, partnering with product teams to design and analyze A/B and multivariate tests to validate assumptions and optimize outcomes.
- Mentor and inspire designers at multiple levels, fostering growth, collaboration, and excellence.
- Drive operational excellence by ensuring thorough and consistent documentation and specifications for seamless handoff to engineering and QA.
- Advocate for user needs in strategic conversations, ensuring ethical, delightful, and impactful solutions.
Requirements
- Proven ability to lead end-to-end design initiatives, set vision, and drive alignment across teams.
- Experience mentoring designers, providing critique, and fostering a culture of craft and collaboration.
- Deep understanding of streaming and subscription ecosystems, with expertise in discovery, personalization, engagement, and retention.
- Ability to translate business objectives and audience insights into coherent product strategies.
- Strong foundation in interaction, visual, and motion design principles, with a history of shipping high-quality experiences at scale.
- Portfolio showcasing multi-platform design work (CTV, Web, Mobile) with measurable impact on user experience and business outcomes.
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success building strong partnerships with Product, Engineering, and Research.
- Proficiency in user-centered design methodologies, usability testing, and experimentation frameworks (A/B, MVT, etc.).
- Ability to balance qualitative insights and quantitative data to inform design decisions.
- Minimum of 7 years of related work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience.

- $138,900.00 to $186,200.00 per year (Los Angeles, CA)
- $152,100.00 to $203,900.00 per year (San Francisco, CA)
- $145,400.00 to $195,000.00 per year (Seattle, WA)
