About the Role
This is a key clinical leadership position focused on mentoring and supporting regionally based clinical and care teams to maximize their utilization. The role involves leading and managing the provision of appropriate clinical care to clients living at home, providing direction and guidance to Registered Nurses to ensure a person-centred approach.
Responsibilities
- Working with Education team colleagues to develop, implement and monitor consistent, best practice policies and procedures across all teams and locations
- Supporting Clinical and Care team members work to embed quality care and clinical governance systems and processes, aligned to RSL Lifecare's clinical framework
- Supporting teams to actively manage care and clinical governance systems in order to meet and maintain accreditation requirements
- Work with the Area Managers, Regional Manager and care teams to identify, mitigate and resolve actual or potential risk and ensure lessons learned are shared
- Role-model a culture and approach where clients are the focal point in decision making and the design of care delivery models
- Participate in and contribute to incident management and investigations as required
- Participate in an on-call roster for clinical escalation for evenings and weekends as required
- Demonstrate leadership through effective interaction with nursing and care teams, including travel to sites within your designated region
Requirements
- Registration as a registered nurse - no current conditions placed upon registration
- Minimum 5 years’ postgraduate clinical experience within health care, aged care, community or other relevant environment
- A motivation for and demonstrated track record in effectively coaching and leading clinical and care teams
- Experience managing compliance with regulatory standards
- Sound understanding of person-centred approaches to clinical care and support
- Compassion, empathy, and ability to build meaningful relationships across a broad range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to make good decisions which balance commercial outcomes with customer experience, applying consideration to mitigate areas of risk
- Roster management experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated understanding of the regulatory environment in Aged Care
- Right to work in Australia
- First Aid and CPR certifications (or willingness to obtain)
- Open to fortnightly regional travel to Central Coast and Dubbo
- A valid Police Check or a valid National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) check, or potentially both, is mandatory for working in the Aged Care sector.
- Clearances must be verified prior to commencing employment with RSL LifeCare.
