About the Role

Johnson Controls is seeking forward-thinking talent to join its growing organization, committed to the health and safety of employees, customers, partners, and communities. The company provides factory certification through its Service Technical Academy (STA), tools, and a vehicle. The role involves delivering high-level service to customers, resolving building inefficiencies, and providing solutions and outcomes during service visits.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites.
  • Participate in certified training through Service Technical Academy.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and customer needs.
  • Advise JCI, contractors, and customers on job progress and issues.
  • Meet attendance requirements for first-year Union training.
  • Provide recommendations and solutions for facility efficiency, including upselling opportunities.
  • Provide quotes for recommendations and solutions.

Requirements

  • Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
  • 1+ years of industry experience or experience servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
  • Knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls professionally.
  • Leadership skills to support Mechanics on non-complex, non-critical mechanical HVAC equipment.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently.
  • Prioritize safety.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Preferred 1-2 years of trade school or college in a technical emphasis.
