About the Role

This role is responsible for maintaining the firm’s litigation calendar and assisting with litigation docketing, reporting to the Litigation Docket Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned docketing and calendaring work accurately and timely.
  • Review litigation documents for relevant dates and use the docketing system to index documents and enter dates.
  • Collect, maintain, and update attorney information, including bar admissions and e-filing credentials.
  • Contribute to knowledge management initiatives related to litigation case files, docketing, and records management.
  • Assist the Litigation Docket Manager with training junior docket clerks and reviewing work product for rule conformity.
  • Assist with researching and extracting information from court-related databases and applications (e.g., PACER, Bloomberg).
  • Comply with department and firm administrative policies and procedures.
  • Assist with department projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Solid interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and a team player.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of personnel.
  • Flexibility to respond to shifting demands and work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and complete multiple related activities.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work product and ensure follow-up.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum three years' experience in a Managing Attorney/Clerk's Office at a large law firm preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of California federal and state court systems and rules.

Skills

  • Proficiency in calendaring software (e.g., CourtAlert).
  • Knowledge of California federal and state court systems and rules.
  • Proficiency with court-related databases and applications (e.g., PACER, Bloomberg).
