About the Role
The role provides general data entry support to the Central Billing and Accounting departments. It requires becoming a subject-matter expert in billing to deliver high-quality customer service to attorneys and clients. The specialist acts as a liaison between attorneys and the Billing Department, requiring flexibility and commitment to quality for strong working relationships. This position involves a high volume of work, collaborative team efforts, and the ability to understand, identify, and resolve complex billing discrepancies. The role reports to the Billing Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Pricing department on complex billing arrangements, including multipayer, volume discounts, and alternative fee arrangements.
- Facilitate budget preparation and submission, providing variance analysis to attorneys.
- Coordinate monthly distribution of pre-bills to partners for review and revisions.
- Monitor completion of revisions and finalization of invoices.
- Analyze invoices for compliance with Firm policies and client guidelines.
- Generate WIP, A/R, and On-Account reports, tracking assigned attorneys’ inventories.
- Complete ad hoc billing requests from attorneys.
- Research aging WIP and A/R balances, providing analysis for resolution.

Skills
- CMS Aderant or Elite billing software experience
- High level of knowledge with all CMS Aderant billing applications (preferred)
- Strong technology skills
- Microsoft Office Suite knowledge (emphasis on Excel)
