About the Role
The Business Development Specialist supports business development and visibility initiatives for Litigation Key Stakeholders, including top partners and marquee clients, across regional and growth initiatives. This role collaborates with the Business Development Manager on BD planning for Trials practices, focusing on day-to-day support, visibility, client targeting, and relationship growth. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining collateral materials like pitch documents, litigation opportunity lists, and matter descriptions. The specialist also spearheads visibility and client relationship management activities, including conferences, sponsorships, and client events, and contributes to team infrastructure and broader department projects. This position reports to the D.C. Associate Director, Business Development.
Responsibilities
- Support development and marketing efforts for assigned practices/regions and individual partner business objectives.
- Drive creation and maintenance of collateral materials, including bespoke pitch documents, standardized pitch decks, and matter descriptions.
- Support practice and individual lawyer visibility initiatives, including conferences, sponsorships, professional association memberships, and speaking opportunities.
- Provide guidance and support for client relationship activities, including events, relationship reviews, and opportunity spotting.
- Collaborate with the Business Development Manager and market intelligence team on client targeting and research reports for pitches and strategic projects.
- Collaborate with CRM, Market Intelligence, and Directories teams to ensure high-quality client data.
Requirements
- University degree.
- 3-5+ years of experience in professional services.
- Experience creating and developing business pitches or learning programs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with CRM systems preferred.
