About the Role

The eBilling Supervisor will be an integral part of the eBilling and Billing Team, demonstrating mastery of the electronic billing process. This role involves analyzing and resolving complex eBilling issues, including electronic invoice reductions and rejections, and coordinating communication among involved parties. The candidate must be flexible, committed to quality, customer service, teamwork, and supporting Firm and department goals in a fast-paced environment. This position reports to the Senior Billing Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and motivate a team of 8-9 direct reports.
  • Organize workflows, ensure understanding of duties, monitor productivity, and provide feedback and training.
  • Enhance the eBilling team's organizational system to track and resolve invoice rejections and resubmissions.
  • Develop solutions to implement corrective actions for future submissions by analyzing rejection trends.
  • Track resubmission deadlines for key corporate clients and coordinate with billing specialists to resolve reductions.
  • Understand client guidelines and contractual billing arrangements to develop recommendations for appealing reduced and rejected invoices.
  • Liaise with Client Accounts (Collections) Team, billing specialists, and client representatives for electronic invoice submissions and appeals.
  • Demonstrate mastery of functionality and submission requirements for major eBilling sites including LegalTracker, CounselLink, TyMetrix360, Collaborati, Passport, CounselGO, BillingPoint, Corridor.
  • Utilize Excel functions for reports, spreadsheets, and manipulating LEDES files (LEDES1998, LEDES98BI, LEDES98BI V2, XML), and troubleshoot technical submission issues.
  • Collaborate with the eBilling Supervisor to support e-billing processes, schedules, and workloads.
  • Complete special projects and ad-hoc requests as needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing requests and prioritize according to firm and client deadlines.
  • Ability to manage increased workload and coordinate with team members under pressure during year-end (September-December).
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Minimum of five years of legal e-billing experience.
