About the Role

Support attorneys in all phases of real estate transactions, including due diligence review and document preparation and management. This role is a key member of a real estate team dedicated to the Firm’s top clients and reports to the Transactional Paralegal Supervisor and the Associate Director of Paralegal Services.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze title documentation, surveys, and zoning reports.
  • Prepare title objection letters, seller response letters, and diligence review summaries for title, survey, zoning, litigation, and lien searches.
  • Negotiate title policy coverage and clear title matters directly with title companies.
  • Work with title companies on the issuance of UCC policies and mezzanine endorsements to owner’s title policies for mezzanine loan transactions.
  • Review and comment on surveys and zoning reports, resolving issues with surveyors and zoning companies.
  • Prepare mortgage assignment/termination documents for loan pay-offs.
  • Prepare escrow instruction letters and coordinate closing logistics with title companies.
  • Review lease documentation and prepare lease abstracts.
  • Order and review UCC, bankruptcy, and litigation searches, then prepare summaries.
  • Prepare ancillary loan documents and conveyance documents.
  • Perform residential real property, condominium, and cooperative closings from contract preparation to closing for sellers, purchasers, transfer agents, and lenders.

  • Proactive and able to efficiently handle multiple projects and client matters simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior analytical and reasoning abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team across multiple offices.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in an AmLaw 100 law firm.
