About the Role

The Knowledge Attorney will integrate legal practice, technology, and experimentation within the Real Estate Practice Group, focusing on AI and emerging technologies. This role requires a transactional lawyer with an innovator's mindset to design, test, and scale new tools and workflows. The position collaborates across teams to translate technology into practical tools for lawyers and clients, reporting to the Chief Legal Operations Officer and the Sr. Director & Counsel of Knowledge & AI.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities for AI, automation, and emerging technologies in real estate legal work.
  • Evaluate, prototype, and implement AI-assisted tools and technology-enabled workflows.
  • Participate in technology pilots and assessments, including AI-driven research and data analytics.
  • Collaborate with teams to design practical, user-centered legal tools.
  • Lead training sessions for attorneys and staff on knowledge systems and AI tools.
  • Capture feedback for continuous improvement of KM products and technology adoption.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge management resources for real estate transactions.
  • Review and update standard templates, forms, and precedents for accuracy and technology suitability.
  • Ensure technology-enabled outputs reflect current market terms and regulatory realities.
  • Identify, draft, and maintain guidance materials, playbooks, and reference content.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for real estate lawyers, providing legal judgment and translating expertise into scalable solutions.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated passion for AI and emerging technology application in real estate legal practice.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong initiative and critical-thinking skills, exercising independent judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative and strategic thinker, open to experimentation and multiple problem-solving approaches.
  • Commitment to knowledge-sharing, efficiency, and excellence in legal work, with a focus on client service.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply legal training to new contexts, including workflow design, tool development, or process improvement.

Skills

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication.
  • Effective collaboration with attorneys, technologists, and administrative professionals.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines concurrently.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Personal or professional coding or tech-related building experience (highly valued).

  • New York (preferred)

Experience Level

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in real estate legal practice
  • Other transactional backgrounds considered

Education Level

  • J.D., Bachelor of Laws, or equivalent with strong academic credentials
  • Admitted to practice and in good standing in the state of residence

Salary/Compensations

  • $250,000 - $290,000
