About the Role
Fanshawe College is seeking interested and experienced legal professionals to join our team as part-time Professors in the School of Public Safety. Reporting to the Program Manager, part-time Professors at Fanshawe College are responsible for providing academic leadership and for developing an effective learning environment for students.
Responsibilities
- Providing academic leadership
- Developing an effective learning environment for students
- Teaching across the Family Legal Services Provider (FLSP) Certificate program
Requirements
- Post-secondary 4-year in University Law Program
- Master’s degree in a related field of study and/or Bachelor of Education/Master of Education is an asset
- Minimum 5 years of recent family law practice experience as a lawyer within the Province of Ontario is required
- L1 License in good standing with Law Society of Ontario is required (must provide LSO number)
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the challenges of diverse student groups is an asset
- Teaching Experience in a post secondary institution is an asset
- Related industry work experience, previous college teaching experience and knowledge of curriculum design and student evaluations are assets
- Combination of excellent leadership and teaching skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
- Excellent communicator
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners
- Strong technical/computer skills and familiarity with educational technologies are required
- Teaching experience with hybrid and/or online delivery preferred
- Successful candidates will be required to perform work within Ontario
- Must be available to work on campus, as required
- Transcripts are mandatory as a condition of employment
