About the Role
Fanshawe College is seeking experienced law enforcement professionals to join our team as part-time Professors in the School of Public Safety. Reporting to the Program Manager, part-time Professors are responsible for providing academic leadership and developing an effective learning environment for students. In this role, you will bring your real-world experience into the classroom, delivering engaging, practical learning experiences and supporting student success in a dynamic post-secondary environment.
Responsibilities

- Teaching across the Protection, Security and Investigation (PSI) program
- Teaching across the Police Foundations (PFT) program
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field of study
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working for the Canada Border Services Agency
- Minimum of 5 years of recent (within the last two years) experience in the field of law enforcement, such as policing, corrections, customs, municipal by-law enforcement, MTO enforcement, and/or security practices
- Successful candidates will be required to perform work within Ontario
- Must be available to work on campus, as required
- Availability for in-person on campus delivery is required for most courses
- Transcripts are mandatory as a condition of employment
Skills
- Teaching experience with hybrid and/or online delivery preferred
- Related industry work experience
- Previous college teaching experience
- Knowledge of curriculum design
- Knowledge of student evaluations
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the challenges faced by diverse student groups
- Excellent leadership skills
