About the Role

Ensures the safety of pool and waterpark patrons and assists with aquatic programs and pool operation. Works under the general supervision of a Lifeguard and Facility Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Safeguard and regulate the conduct of pool and waterpark patrons.
  • Enforce park policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Monitor patrons during the use of park amenities.
  • Support the safe and orderly use of pool and park amenities, such as slides and other aquatic fixtures, by safety standards.
  • Respond quickly, intelligently, and decisively by established emergency and accident procedures.
  • Actively seek to prevent accidents and eliminate risk.
  • Attend in-service training and instruct staff in certain skills.
  • Provide customer service to patrons, including handling conflicts and complaints as needed.
  • Perform work safely in accordance with departmental safety procedures.
  • Operate equipment safely and report any unsafe work conditions or practices to the supervisor.
  • Ensure park facilities are maintained to safety, cleanliness, and operational standards.
  • Communicate with patrons professionally and courteously to answer questions, resolve conflicts, and enforce park policies and rules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provide regular and reliable attendance.

Requirements

  • Must be safety-minded and focused.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must work well under pressure and in high-stress situations.
  • Must be able to stay focused on a task for long periods; be alert.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Previous experience working as a pool attendant.
  • Must be able to swim independently.
  • Ability to talk and hear.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, swim, and climb all day.
  • Ability to frequently lift or move items over 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
