About the Role

Victor Energy is seeking a Project Manager to provide leadership for their project execution team, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and meeting scope and quality specifications. This role involves managing client expectations and reporting project progress to senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate project setup, ensuring the project team, budget, and documentation are in place for effective project kick-off.
  • Develop and maintain project execution plans, critical risk paths, and milestone schedules.
  • Prepare, monitor, and update construction schedules and job costs.
  • Manage and coordinate project material, equipment, and subcontract activities.
  • Act as the primary contact between the client and the organization to maintain client relationships and satisfaction.
  • Maintain project reporting to clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring effective communication.
  • Follow the change management process to document and approve changes impacting project cost, schedule, or scope.
  • Maintain all project documentation, including execution plans, risk registers, RFI logs, change order logs, schedules, and health and safety/quality plans.
  • Manage project expenditures and ensure adherence to the approved budget.
  • Align projections of resource hours for equipment and personnel on assigned projects.
  • Ensure timely processing of accounts receivable and payable invoices to maintain cash flow.
  • Lead project meetings, including kick-offs, updates, change orders, recovery plans, and lessons learned.
  • Utilize approved systems in alignment with company expectations.
  • Maintain awareness of quality, acceptance, safety, and environmental requirements for each project.
  • Coordinate project close-out and conduct post-mortems to identify improvements and lessons learned.

Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of experience managing medium to large full cycle EPC or construction projects required.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in utility construction (such as electrical transmission/distribution telecommunications) or similar industries is an asset.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse team in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Sound knowledge in the review and negotiation of contracts for construction projects with strong technical, business, financial, and legal acumen.
  • Positive attitude, team player, and change agent.
  • Strong time management and documentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Advanced level understanding of Microsoft Office Excel/Project applications.
  • Previous experience utilizing project management software (e.g., Primavera and Microsoft Project).
  • Ability to learn new software programs.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract/driving record required.
