About the Role
As a Staff Occupational Therapist, you will provide essential evaluations and therapies to individuals with traumatic brain injuries, helping them reclaim their independence and quality of life within a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial patient evaluations to identify problems and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Administer therapy programs and perform interim evaluations to update patient progress.
- Perform on-site job, home, power tools, and height evaluations.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and reports.
- Consult with patients, families, insurance representatives, and multidisciplinary clinic staff.
- Coordinate care with outside ancillary services including physiatrists, orthopedists, neuro-optometrists, and neurologists.
- Monitor all patient programs within the department.
- Instruct and supervise clinic aides and students.
- Implement therapeutic interventions including sensory integration, neuromuscular and neurodevelopmental techniques, and oculomotor/visual perceptual therapies.
- Participate in team meetings to develop innovative treatment strategies.
- Engage in continuous professional development and mentorship programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Current Occupational Therapy License in the state of employment or license eligibility.
