About the Role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Email team, responsible for building and maintaining the core infrastructure that delivers billions of personalized emails monthly and processes associated reporting data. This includes a highly parallelized platform for personalization and sending emails at scale, REST APIs for subscription management, web pages for user preference management, and dashboards for customer email domain configuration.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with product, design, and engineers to build new features based on customer feedback.
  • Scale the email channel as message volume grows.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop the team's engineers.
  • Solve major engineering challenges by guiding key architectural decisions.
  • Contribute code in high-leverage cases.
  • Take broad responsibility for the team’s vision, goals, and processes.
  • Contribute to making engineers better and share knowledge.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of success.
  • 2+ years leading high-performing teams.
  • Thrive on a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
  • Ability to dig into technical details to inform decisions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and make hard decisions and tradeoffs.
  • Experience building foundational systems at scale.
  • Experience spearheading software projects that significantly advanced organizational goals.
