About the Role
Lead the Email team, responsible for building and maintaining the core infrastructure that delivers billions of personalized emails a month and processes associated reporting data. This includes a highly parallelized platform for personalization and sending emails at scale, REST APIs for subscription management, web pages for preference management, and dashboards for customer email domain configuration.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with product, design, and engineers to build new features based on customer feedback.
- Scale the email channel as message volume grows.
- Recruit, coach, and develop team engineers.
- Solve major engineering challenges by guiding key architectural decisions.
- Contribute code in high-leverage cases.
- Take broad responsibility for the team’s vision, goals, and processes.
- Contribute to making engineers better and share knowledge.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of success.
- 2+ years leading high-performing teams.
- Thrive on a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
- Ability to dig into technical details to inform decisions.
- Ability to communicate effectively and make hard decisions and tradeoffs.
- Experience building foundational systems at scale.
- Experience spearheading software projects that significantly advanced organizational goals.
