About the Role

J.S. Held is a global consulting firm seeking a Sr. Director for its Economic Damages & Valuation team. This role requires an entrepreneurial, driven individual with a strong grasp of consulting and business litigation, flexibility, and strategic thinking abilities to manage diverse tasks.

Responsibilities

• Help lead complex business litigation engagements to evaluate economic damages, including planning, delegating tasks, and managing teams.
• Build client relationships and act as a direct contact with current and prospective clients.
• Gather data and information pertinent to engagements through client interaction.
• Provide insight and expertise on target industries, markets, and competitor information.
• Manage damages analyses, including determining methodologies and building/reviewing financial models.
• Draft expert reports.
• Review and analyze reports of opposing damages experts.
• Serve as an expert witness and provide testimony when appropriate.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of work experience evaluating economic damages in business litigation matters across various industries.
• Strong background in financial statement analysis and expert report preparation.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree with a strong quantitative bias (e.g., Business, Economics, Math, Finance, or Accounting).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience evaluating economic damages in business litigation cases.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality expert reports.
• Strong project management skills.
• Strong analysis and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines while being detail-oriented.
• Strong independent work ethic and leadership skills.
• Exceptional communication skills to support and solve client questions and requests.
• Ability to travel as needed.
