About the Role
RS&H is seeking a Principal Engineer to join our Aviation Practice in Oakland, CA. You will collaborate with regional teams to provide integrated services for airport projects, focusing on innovative design, technical excellence, and client satisfaction. This role offers opportunities to lead projects, manage clients, and contribute to business development.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and deliver airport projects of varying sizes and complexity
- Perform geometric design of runways, taxiways, and aprons
- Execute bituminous and concrete pavement design
- Design stormwater and utility infrastructure
- Coordinate with airports, airlines, the FAA, and other tenants
- Provide construction administration and management
- Initiate and maintain client contact
- Assist the team in winning new work
- Manage clients and help grow aviation sales, revenue, and earnings
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an ABET-accredited university
- Minimum 15 years of experience, including 4 years in civil design of airport-related facilities
- PE registration or ability to obtain within 6 months
- General understanding of architecture, facility/master planning, and environmental planning in an airport environment
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
