About the Role

WGI is seeking an engineering professional with 0-4 years of experience to join our Civil team in Austin, TX. This role involves project production tasks and supporting the public works team in preparing and coordinating civil engineering public infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist or lead in production of construction plans, specifications, and developing cost estimates for new and existing public infrastructure projects.
• Apply AutoCAD and/or Microstation software in drafting design plans for public works (utilities, roadway, and drainage/stormwater infrastructure).
• Conduct field visits to understand existing site conditions and evaluate the scope of work.
• Prepare permitting application packages in coordination with governing agencies.
• Prepare engineering reports, construction specifications, and bid documents.
• Attend meetings with team members and client teams.
• Address review comments and prepare plan updates in AutoCAD and/or Microstation software.
• Perform site visits following design and bidding to observe construction and prepare observation reports.
• Attend industry events for networking and relationship building.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• 0-4 years’ experience in public infrastructure projects with a focus on design production and construction document preparation.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) license obtained or scheduled to sit for exam within 6 months of employment.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
• WGI is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas.
