About the Role
The General Warehouse Associate is responsible for picking, scanning, labeling, moving, staging, replenishing, and stacking product. This individual is also responsible for counting and inspecting product and notifying leadership when there are damages or discrepancies. Associates are accountable for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and will perform all duties as assigned. As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in performance, safety, and quality, and comply with all corporate and site-specific policies.
Responsibilities
- Accurately pick orders using a pallet jack to fulfill client demands.
- Efficiently and accurately pick products and stage them in appropriate areas.
- Stack, package, band, shrink wrap, and label products according to client requirements.
- Ensure all products and orders are received, handled, and shipped correctly using appropriate documentation.
- Verify that products and/or orders meet quality standards.
- Report any damages or discrepancies.
- Execute all safety protocols and accomplish job tasks in a manner that promotes safety.
- Maintain a clean, neat, orderly work area and assist in warehouse security.
- Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site-specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/SDS Standards.
- Operate all equipment, including pallet jacks, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
- Work overtime as dictated by business needs.
Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months.
- Ability to lift/carry and push/pull 21-50 pounds.
- Ability to reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel.
Skills
- English (reading, writing, verbal)
- Basic to intermediate mathematical skills to verify quantities, count inventory, and perform other handling duties.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to accomplish job tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance.
- Ability to effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced work environment.
