About the Role

This role supports strategic decision-making through financial planning, analysis, and reporting, evaluating financial performance, developing forecasts and budgets, and providing insights for leadership to drive business growth and efficiency. It also involves supporting revenue cycle reporting and initiatives, and conducting financial analysis for new services and program feasibility, aligning with Franciscan values of compassion and care.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
  • Analyze financial results, identify trends, and explain variances against forecasts.
  • Develop and maintain financial models for business decisions and investment opportunities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and recommendations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for leadership.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and risk assessments for strategic initiatives.
  • Improve financial processes, reporting tools, and data accuracy.
  • Support executive presentations and board reporting materials.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external financial regulations.
  • Provide backup for general accounting duties, including monthly close procedures, account reconciliations, fixed asset tracking, monthly investment activity, and financial report creation/editing.
  • Provide backup for accounts payable duties, including collecting/tracking payments, running profit/loss reports, making bank deposits, distributing/processing invoices, and reconciling vendor statements.
  • Complete accurate, thorough, and legible reports and documentation.
  • Efficiently enter and retrieve required data and information using electronic database systems.
  • Understand and follow organizational programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in regular training and development opportunities.
  • Participate in relevant meetings supporting team communication and program capacity.
  • Collaborate with others to achieve team success.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of financial analysis experience within an organization with at least 100 employees and $25M in annual expenditure.
  • Strong knowledge of financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and data analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience with financial ERP systems and BI tools (Tableau preferred).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex data clearly.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Discretion with confidential documents and data.
  • Initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be polite, diplomatic, and firm.
  • Ability to set limits and practice professional boundaries with guests, volunteers, donors, and coworkers.
  • Ability to be punctual, reliable, cooperative, and team-oriented.
  • Desired experience working in a non-profit or community-based social service agency with people experiencing homelessness or poverty.
