About the Role
Teradyne’s Defense and Aerospace Division provides high-performance test solutions for defense and aerospace markets, ensuring the reliability of military and commercial aerospace electronics. Demand for these systems is driven by new programs and upgrades. The Field Applications team seeks an energetic, driven engineer to collaboratively and independently develop imaginative, thorough, and practical application solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop, debug, and deploy test solutions for Digital, Analog, and RF assemblies.
- Independently develop test program software.
- Design and review Interface Test Adapter schematics for test solutions.
- Analyze problems and recommend solutions on the Teradyne ATE platform.
- Collaborate with test engineering customers to improve test processes.
- Recommend improvements for test coverage quality.
- Release test solutions to production, addressing environmental and automation requirements.
- Discover customer requirements, focusing on conceptual design of hardware, software, and test cell integration; electrical and mechanical H/W schematics; and PCB & H/W design inputs for interface hardware.
- Develop new techniques and designs for testing solutions.
- Demonstrate tester capability for customer evaluations.
- Assist customers with tester operation and capability.
- Provide training, technical exchanges, and technical papers.
- Develop strong technical customer relations to gain insight into customer direction and needs.
- Understand ATE industry trends, competitive products, and product positioning (a plus).
Requirements
- Bachelor or higher degree in electrical/computer engineering or related fields, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years of test engineering or similar experience.
- Preferred test/product engineering experience in analog, digital, mixed signal, and RF testing and test development.
- Preferred prior programming experience on Teradyne or ATE platforms.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio, C#, C++ programming, and Windows.
- Ability to work in a team and independently.
- Strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills.
- Solid presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to teamwork.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proven technical record.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to travel (>50%).
- Must carry auto liability or minimum insurance due to automotive responsibilities.
- Must be a US Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Asylee, Refugee, or lawfully admitted under an amnesty program for this ITAR restricted position.

Salary/Compensations
- Base salary range: $97,800 - $156,400
- Eligible for discretionary bonus based on financial performance
