About the Role

Provide administrative support to ensure efficient center operation. Support physicians and patients through tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Interview and assess patients, documenting basic medical history
  • Organize and schedule office appointments
  • Coordinate referrals, including scheduling appointments with medical oncology, radiation oncology, and plastic surgery specialists
  • Manage surgery scheduling, arranging surgical procedures at the designated hospital
  • Triage phone calls
  • Update and file medical records and insurance reports as applicable
  • Prepare charts for the surgeon
  • Arrange hospital admissions and laboratory services as applicable
  • Check patient charts and other pertinent information
  • Assist during medical examinations and procedures
  • Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms
  • Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
  • Obtain necessary authorizations for surgical procedures and radiology services
  • Prepare and process disability and FMLA forms for patients
  • Complete other assigned tasks and projects

Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, lift, and walk without restrictions
  • Proficiency in using office equipment such as computers, fax machines, telephones, and copiers
  • Ability to perform computer-related activities for extended periods
  • Ability to see, hear, speak, write, and key

  • Williamsville office

  • Monday-Friday Days

Experience Level

  • At least one (1) year of medical assistant experience or medical secretary experience in a healthcare setting preferred

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
