About the Role

This role supports greenlighting decisions and maintains ultimates across both Scripted and non-Scripted content. It provides business partnering support to commercial and BALA stakeholders on key decisions covering talent investment and corporate business development activity, and offers proactive analysis to support strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide investment analysis in TV shows, including recommendations, identifying key drivers of the investment model, and collaborating with stakeholders to drive decision-making before greenlighting a new TV show.
  • Manage titles throughout their life-cycle, from GL prep through to close-down and moving to library, liaising with teams across UIS (BALA, Production, Prod Finance, Controllership).
  • Support the quarterly close process in relation to title bookings by working closely with the Controllership team.
  • Analyze proposed new talent deals, distilling complex analysis and presenting it succinctly to highlight key issues, sensitivities, and recommendations for effective business decisions.
  • Continuously appraise current talent investments, fostering a proactive culture of feedback and learning to improve future decision-making.
  • Support strategic reviews of operating assets, such as production companies.
  • Assist with key strategic projects including Op Reviews, M&A, platform analysis, and deal structures (e.g., relationships with third-party producers).
  • Analyze key TV markets, communicating market dynamics, competitor analysis, and identifying opportunities for exploitation.
  • Evaluate actual performance and provide insightful support to business and commercial teams as a key finance business partner.
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects and tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with experience in Commercial Finance and FP&A, preferably within the Media industry.
  • Experience in a Strategic Finance role is preferable.
  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to communicate complex financial and strategic issues to non-finance individuals.
  • Ability to work with both detailed information and at a macro level.
  • Proficiency in using a broad suite of communication tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Word memos, in-person presentations).
  • Ability to work at pace, prioritizing tasks without compromising quality, and balancing attention to detail with speed.
  • Ambitious and enthusiastic self-starter who is highly motivated and comfortable managing change.
  • Demonstrates ownership of their area and a can-do attitude.
  • Proactive, creative, and possesses a curious, solution-focused mindset.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Ability to work comfortably across different time zones, predominantly the US.
  • Previous experience of Ultimates Accounting and IT business reporting software (e.g., BPC, SAP) would be preferable.
  • Must be able to provide documentation to prove eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
