About the Role
Stantec's New York City office seeks a Senior Civil Engineer / Project Manager with project management and technical skills, specifically roadway/highway expertise, to lead and participate in urban infrastructure projects. This role offers rapid growth through client exposure and collaboration on diverse projects including roadway reconstruction, public spaces, rail, transit, and urban infrastructure. Responsibilities include client meetings, financial and schedule management, task coordination, technical leadership, and mentoring junior staff, contributing to Stantec's regional and national growth.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage multiple civil roadway/highway projects as Project Manager, Technical Lead, and Engineer of Record.
- Plan, organize, and manage project deliverables for on-time delivery, technical quality, and budget adherence.
- Lead project coordination meetings with internal teams, external consultants, owners, contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors.
- Serve as the project's point of contact with clients and agencies for requirements and approvals.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects and peer projects.
- Review work for accuracy and completeness, managing time to meet project budget and schedule.
- Manage and monitor schedule and budget performance of assigned projects.
- Provide direct supervision, guidance, and mentoring to assigned staff to develop skills and abilities.
- Mentor developing professionals to guide career development objectives.
- Review team's work and provide technical guidance on design approach and challenges.
- Recognize technical problems and initiate guidance for corrective actions.
- Provide personal guidance on complex projects and act as a resource for team members.
- Assist with developing technical approaches for Statement of Qualifications.
- Assist with technical aspects for project interviews.
- Develop proposal documentation including project scope, budgets, and design approach.
- Develop positive relations with existing and prospective clients.
