About the Role

The CoreAI organization at Microsoft builds the end-to-end AI stack, driving Azure AI innovation and supporting flagship products like GitHub, Office, Teams, and Xbox. This includes Responsible AI, Azure OpenAI, Model as a Service, Azure ML, Cognitive Services, and global Azure AI infrastructure. The Responsible AI organization is critical for building, governing, and scaling AI systems with trust, accountability, and transparency. This senior individual contributor role seeks an experienced operations leader to design and run the business operating system for the Responsible AI program, establishing cadence, frameworks, and execution infrastructure to ensure aligned priorities, well-formed decisions, and predictable execution in a fast-moving environment. The role focuses on building durable execution infrastructure and enabling leaders and teams to operate at scale. Responsibilities

Architect and manage the Responsible AI operating cadence, including leadership team rhythms, planning cycles, business reviews, and offsites.
Partner with senior leaders to structure agendas, capture decisions, document trade-offs, and ensure follow-through on commitments.
Design and manage annual and quarterly business rhythms (goal setting, progress reviews, calibration, talent discussions) with clear data and narratives for timely decision-making.
Optimize end-to-end hiring workflows (intake, prioritization, readiness, coordination) in collaboration with recruiting and business managers.
Develop and maintain lightweight processes, tools, and templates to connect strategy to delivery while minimizing operational overhead.
Identify and resolve friction points in cross-team workflows by designing scalable solutions.
Create repeatable operating mechanisms to support program growth, change, and increasing complexity.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science).
8+ years of experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, project management, or business-related roles.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
Pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Skills

Demonstrated ability to build scalable operating models, cadences, and processes.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, translating ambiguity into clear structure and action.
Proven experience operating with senior leadership teams and influencing decision-making without direct authority.
5+ years of product operations experience, including product development lifecycle.
Familiarity with budget planning, vendor management, or financial governance in large, complex organizations.

USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year (U.S. typical base pay)
USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year (San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area base pay)
