About the Role
This role is responsible for accounting operations related to in-house produced titles within PlayStation Studio (PDI). The position involves collaboration with accounting personnel in the US and UK due to the global nature of the business.
Responsibilities
- Accounting for production costs and software capitalization.
- Responding to inquiries from business departments.
- Coordinating tax filings (corporate, consumption, and withholding taxes) with advice from the Tax team.
- Performing accounting duties for Polyphony Digital, including closing the books for the corporation.
- Collaborating with overseas offices in Europe and the US for global alignment.
- Participating in global alignment initiatives based on proficiency in Japanese accounting practices.
- Engaging in job rotation to build a strong career in accounting, covering areas such as hardware, R&D, after-sales service, personnel costs, and fixed assets.
Requirements
- Over 5 years of accounting experience in a publicly traded company.
- Experience using SAP.
- High proficiency in Excel (functions, Pivot Tables, Power Query).
- Comfortable communicating in English (email, chat, online meetings) with counterparts in Europe and the US, and motivated to do so.
- Ability to proactively identify issues, take initiative, and consult/collaborate with relevant parties as needed.
