About the Role
Operates parylene deposition systems to coat customer-supplied parts according to specifications. This role also involves operating other equipment, performing light maintenance, and potentially assisting with shipping and receiving.
Responsibilities
- Follows process instructions, Manufacturing Standard Procedures (MSPs), and verbal instructions from management.
- Prepares job traveler sheets and processes parts through unpacking, cleaning, promoting, masking, fixturing, coating, de-fixturing, demasking, and packing.
- Completes all required documentation.
- Loads machines, monitors process equipment, and verifies coating thickness using measurement devices.
- Operates machines related to the promotion and deposition process with minimal assistance.
- Shuts down, unloads, reloads, and starts machines as scheduled.
- Maintains records, checklists, and logbooks for equipment, including witness strips, QC testing, and maintenance.
- Reads customer or engineering drawings and specifications related to part processing.
- Assembles fixtures and assemblies for coating.
- Prepares, uses, and disposes of chemical cleaning and promotion baths.
- May fixture customer parts in preparation for the coating process.
- Participates in FAA/DOT testing as necessary.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Proven mechanical ability and/or previous machine operator experience.
- Ability to read, write, and follow written or verbal instructions.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
- Ability to properly use and read measurements on tools involved in the coating process.
- High degree of manual dexterity and hand-to-eye coordination.
- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems.
