About the Role
As a Senior Digital Designer on a 13-month parental leave contract, you will join the NRMA in-house Creative Studio to deliver high-quality digital creative across campaigns, products, and experiences. You will develop creative ideas for owned and paid channels, collaborate with various teams, and use data-driven insights to inform design solutions. This role is crucial in shaping our evolving visual identity and driving engagement and consistency across digital platforms.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with stakeholders and the in-house Studio team to deliver clear, digital concepts and assets for each audience and channel.
- Apply data-driven insights to creative work and engage stakeholders in the rationale behind design decisions.
- Ensure creative effectively answers brief requirements, meets business objectives, and prioritizes members.
- Ideate and develop creative ideas to pitch work to Creative Director, Head of Brand and Creative, and stakeholders.
- Build and maintain digital branded templates and inform team members of updates.
- Create and deliver digital assets demonstrating understanding of platform requirements and best practices (e.g., email, social, display ads).
- Research to develop creative strategy and concepts for higher tier campaigns.
- Collaborate with designers, copywriters, Creative Director, and Head of Brand and Creative to develop and deliver concept presentations.
- Receive, interpret, and apply feedback to improve work while safeguarding the brand.
- Provide guidance and lead a small team of digital designers.
- Stay updated on creative best practices, AI development, campaign channels, and business updates to improve approaches and processes.
Requirements
- 5–7 years’ experience in a digital design role (agency or in-house).
- Demonstrated experience working with a big iconic or multi-faceted brand.
- Capability to translate brand and product stories across multiple digital channels (digital display, email, social, ATL).
- Familiarity with AI-assisted creative tools and openness to applying them responsibly.
- A strong portfolio showcasing ability to interpret briefs and deliver effective digital design solutions.
- Exceptional skills across Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects).
- Confidence designing in Figma and building emails in Braze or similar customer engagement platforms.
- Solid understanding of responsive design, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience creating performance-driven creative across platforms like Meta and Google Ads.
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experienced people manager with a passion for guiding and coaching others.
- Ability to manage multiple briefs, priorities, deadlines, and scope changes simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative, proactive attitude and enjoyment working as part of a close-knit team.
